PAELLA SPECIALITY
For parties of 4 or more we can prepare a special home cooked paella. Served at your table in a traditional dish this recipe comes direct from our Spanish family, you can choose from chicken, seafood, vegetarian or a combination. For a meal with a difference this is a great dish for large parties and we can also provide a "tapas" starter. Available by Advance Booking.
BUFFET PARTIES
If you'd like to organise a gathering at The Chequers we can provide a buffet for your party for a minimum of 20 people. This can be a cold finger buffet, or meat platters with a selection of home-made salads, fish brioches etc., or a hot buffet of dishes such as Chilli Con Carne, Chicken or beef dishes, Fish Pie, Roast Potatoes etc. Or why not have a theme, we can offer many different choices such as Spanish, Chinese, Indian, Mediterranean as an example. OUTSIDE CATERING
We are able to provide a buffet service for any number of occasions whether it is for a party at your house or a smaller gathering. We can prepare a varied buffet for your special occasion.
SAUSAGE THURSDAY
Thursday is Sausage Day at The Chequers every week. Available both lunch time and evening there is a selection of six different types of sausage, which are changed every week to be chosen, such as Pork & Hop, Spicy Thai or Pork & Leek. Have sausages, onions, mash and gravy or classic sausage sandwich with fried onions or warm baguette. Or there's the Atkins special of 3 sausages, 2 eggs & mushrooms or the Chequers Yorkshire pudding with your choice of special sausages, mash, onions & gravy. Come along on a Thursday and enjoy a sausage.
MONDAY LUNCHTIME
At lunchtime we restrict our menu to a selection of freshly made sandwiches or rolls, and homemade soup with crusty fresh bread, jacket potatoes & open sandwiches.
TASTY PIES ON THE 1ST TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH
The first Tuesday & Wednesday of each month is Pie Day at The Chequers. There will be a special selection of tasty pies on the menu each month, such as Pork & Calvados, Steak, Stout & Onion, and Leek & Stilton. Available both lunchtime and evening - book your table now for the first Tuesday or Wednesday of the next months.
SEAFOOD EXTRAVAGANCE
For a minimum of 2 people we will prepare you a special fruits de mer to celebrate a special occasion or just to treat yourself. Leisurely enjoy the experience and take your time over this delightful meal.
Standard Tiered Platter to include: Mediterranean King Prawns, shell-on prawns, Norwegian shelled prawns, smoked salmon, fresh anchovies, Green Lip Mussels, Dressed Crab, Cockles, fresh bread , mayonnaise, tartar, seafood sauce, lemon wedges and black pepper. £23 per person.
